Bronx, Ny – (May 26, 2010) Doctors Medical Group, a family medical office chain, honors one of its own providers for exemplary humanitarian work for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.  Haiti was devastated recently with a massive earthquake. That killed an estimated 200,000 people while injuring an additional 300,000 and leaving nearly 1 million homeless.  Doctors Medical Group, (also known as DMG), is proud that, Dr. Nedjie Pierre, a specialist in podiatry quickly responded and joined one of the first medical groups flying to assist the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Doctors Medical Group is recognizing and honoring Dr. Nedjie Pierre with The DMG Humanitarian award honoring her outstanding efforts and volunteer work in Haiti. 

Dr. Pierre states “Going to Haiti was the best experience I have had in my 12 years of practicing podiatry.  The need was great and the work was hard but gratifying.  My group was comprised of several different specialties, under the umbrella of a total of 3 different medical organizations into one.  Although the conditions were not ideal, so soon after the earthquake occurred, due to the chaotic and lack of organization, imagining the heartache and fear the victims experienced, helped us all to appreciate how much more fortunate we actually are. Not having gone to my country of origin in greater than 10 years until then, gave me a greater sense of inner reflection about how I came to be who I am today.  I owe a debt of gratitude to my homeland for the degree of success I have achieved thus far.  It was an unforgettable experience one I will not soon forget.”
